BOND, Iris
Iris Bond was born at Ipswich on 12 September 1900, daughter of William Keer Bond and his wife Grace Ellen née Gurteen, who married at Haverhill, Suffolk on 14 February 1899. In 1911, Iris was a 10-year-old, living at ‘Pentucket’ 7 St Edmund’s Road, Ipswich with her parents, 42-year-old William and 42-year-old Grace and a sibling sister Elaine 6, who was born at Ipswich. Iris was educated at Ipswich High School for Girls. As Iris Bond she exhibited at the Ipswich Fine Art Club from 50 Westerfield Road, Ipswich in 1927, a watercolour 'Blakeney Quay'. She married at Ipswich in 1930, Felix Clement Smith (24 December 1899-27 March 1981), a farmer, and in 1939 was living at Searson's Farm, Trimley, Felixstowe, Suffolk with her husband and two sons. Iris Smith died at 50 Westerfield Road, Ipswich on 15 January 1992.
