LEVERETT, Henry Frederick
Henry Frederick Leverett was born in St Matthew's parish, Ipswich on 18 December 1819 and baptised on 18 December 1822, son of Henry Leverett (c1788-23 February 1856), a land & house proprietor, and his wife Mary Ann née Gislingham (1790-5 November 1871), who married at St Clements Church, Ipswich on 24 November 1812. Young Henry married at St Matthew's Church, Ipswich on 15 November 1842, Elizabeth Lambert (baptised 11 June 1819-13 October 1885), daughter of Thomas Lambert of Haslemere. In 1851, Henry was a 31-year-old house proprietor, living at St Matthews Street, Ipswich with his 33-year-old wife Elizabeth and their three children, Anne Elizabeth 6, Henry Alfred 4 and Caleb Rickman 3. Henry exhibited a painting at the Suffolk Fine Arts Association in August 1850 'Landscape'. By 1861 he was living at 38 Berners Street, Ipswich with the addition of six more children, Mary 8, Sarah 6, Louisa Ellen 5, Charles 4, Arthur 2 and Grace 1. Henry Frederick Leverett died at his Berners Street, Ipswich home on 8 October 1864 and was buried in Ipswich cemetery on 15 October 1864, aged 44, leaving an estate of some £2,000.
