BURRELL, Catherine Matilda
As Catherine Matilda Halls, she was baptised at Denham, Suffolk on 8 August 1847, daughter of Joseph Edwin Halls (1821-28 January 1858), a farmer, and his wife Matilda née Stutter (1825-1867), who married at Bury St Edmund's in 1845. She married at Saffron Walden, Essex on 11 December 1873, Robert Burrell (1834-15 November 1923). In 1881, a 33-year-old, living at 3 Honey Hill, Bury St Edmund's with her 46-year-old husband Robert, a chemical manufacturer & landowner, who was born at Westley St Mary, near Bury St Edmund's. As Mrs R. Burrell, she exhibited at the Bury & West Suffolk Fine Art Society in 1881 'The Stepping-Stones'. By 1891 her husband, a landowner, had taken over the family estate and they were living at Westley Hall and were still living there in 1921. Her husband died at Westley Hall in 1923 and by now as Katharine Matilda Burrell, she died at Westley Hall, Bury St Edmund's on 21 July 1930, aged 83, they had no issue.
