ERICKSSON, Ashe
A native of Suffolk 'Ashe Freya Ericksson', studied at Ipswich School of Art and specialises in gilding illuminated miniatures. In the 1960s was a visitor at the East Anglian School of Painting and Drawing at Benton End, Hadleigh, Suffolk, working with pupils of Cedric Morris and Arthur Lett-Haines. Ashe is a muralist, interior designer, artist, author, and book illustrator and, with Corinne Mellor, the author of 'The Snowlies Find a Letter' (2007). In 1998 she was artist in residence at Smith & Wareham, involved with painting tiles, decorating panels and in customer's homes. She married Lawrence Self and with their three sons Marcus, James Lawrence and Duncan John lived at Keepers Mead, Lower Road, Rattlesden, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk. After the death of Lawrence Self on 28 December 2001, as Ashe Erickson [sic] she married at Bury St Edmund's in 2005, Donald I. Smith and lived at Drinkstone, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk.
