LADBROOKE, Sally
Sally Anne Ladbrooke was born at Diss, Norfolk in 1949, daughter of Roy Walter Ladbrooke (24 April 1922-18 April 2008) and his wife Joan Edith née Goose, who had married at Norwich the previous year. Sally married at Diss in 1983, Geoffrey William Howard Hinchliffe, but continued to paint under the name of Sally Ladbrooke. Sally tends to work from natural subjects, in landscape around the Norfolk/Suffolk borders, always painting from life and her subjects always have something, either colour, shape or composition. She works in watercolour, for its subtlety and transparency, but also likes to experiment, using it in conjunction with other mediums such as gouache, and acrylic inks, and water-soluble wax crayons. All behave differently and add subtle with bright contrasting layers of colour. A member of the Eye Arts Guild from Lows Lane, Diss, Norfolk but currently (2020) lives at Beccles in Suffolk where she exhibits with Beccles Society of Artists.
