ROSSELLI, Heath
Heath Anne Rosselli was born at Cambridge in 1960, daughter of Oswald Hugh Rosselli (22 January 1928-3 May 1997) of Joist Farm, Waterbeach Fen, and his wife Anne Dorothy née Waller (30 November 1928-12 October 2012), who married at Cambridge in 1960. Heath was educated at Abbot’s Hill School 1969–1976 which is on the outskirts of Hemel Hempstead and Kings Langley, Hertfordshire. She married at Newmarket, Suffolk in 1981, Christopher John A. Beattie (born 1956), continuing to paint under the name of Heath Rosselli. Mainly self-taught, Heath has been painting professionally for over 25 years with subsequent training in the studios of David Denby (born 1946) and Rosa Branson (born 1933). Specialising in oil portraiture, Heath Rosselli applies the methods of the Renaissance masters to both formal and personal commissions during the painting process. In 1999, Heath won the Painter-Stainers Prize at their Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London in recognition of ‘Juliet’s Reflection’ because of this she was made an Honorary Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Painter-Stainers and a Freeman of the City of London. Heath’s acclaimed work has been exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery; Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries and the New English Art Club. Heath’s renowned portrait of a breast cancer survivor, ‘Evelyn’, was exhibited in January/February 2009 at the Louvre in Paris in support of the International Breast Cancer Symposium. Heath lives in Worlington, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk and exhibited at Bury St Edmund's Church Walks in 2012 when sixty highly regarded professional artists as well as local artists and students generously donated their work and supported by the School of Art, West Suffolk College with all the proceeds going to St Nicholas Hospice Care. Co-founder of The Worlington Movement, the brainchild of two successful professional painters, Heath Rosselli and Rosa Branson (1933-), seeks to promote classical training for art students and to assist young artists in acquiring essential skills in drawing and oil painting, to portray the deep and fundamental issues of our contemporary world.
