TURNER, Prudence
As Violet Prudence Summerhayes, she was born at Bengal in India on 20 May 1906 and baptised at Quetta, Bengal on 23 July 1906, daughter of Dr John Orlando Summerhayes (7 February 1869-28 October 1942), a medical practitioner, and his wife Lucy Alexa Heathcote née Currie (28 January 1868-19 September 1957), eldest daughter of Robert Currie of the Bengal Civil Service, who married at Ajnala, Punjab, India on 19 January 1895. Violet married at Newhaven, Sussex in 1931, John Alan Turner (4 August 1903-11 February 1990), a solicitor, and in 1939 they were living at Holmwood, Church Road, Brixworth, Northamptonshire. A member and exhibitor at Southwold Art Circle. Violet Prudence Turner died at Rowan Cottage, South Green, Southwold on 27 February 1984. Known as Prudence, her husband known as Alan, donated £500 to the Southwold Art Circle in her memory.
