NORRIS, Sheila Kathleen
Sheila Kathleen Norris was born at the Evacuees Maternity Home North, Eastern Senior School Copleston Road, Ipswich in 1939, daughter of Cecil Henry Norris and his wife Kitty née Meider (4 October 1911-1989), who married in Essex in 1937. Sheila trained as an art teacher and taught for a few years before starting her own pottery business, which she ran for some twenty years before she decided to return to her first love of drawing and painting. She worked with water-based paints and graphite pencils but also used oil paints on canvas. Working from photographs she had been specialising in pets, people, and vehicles for over fifteen years from her studio at Saxon Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk before moving to Ipswich. She exhibited at Art on the Prom at Felixstowe, Suffolk.
