LAST, Ian

Ian Robert Last was born at Ipswich in 1977, son of Graham A. Last and his wife Kathleen S. née Parker, who lived and married at Woodbridge, Suffolk in 1973. Ian is mostly self-taught, practising his art in his free time, which turned into more than a hobby when he obtained commissions for his work. Originally working on animal life in pencil which he has now expanded to include landscapes and aircraft studies, using both pencil, acrylics and oils producing wonderfully detailed drawings and paintings that contain breath-taking detail. Ian has exhibited in Scotland and, being invited to exhibit at the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art at Chester in 2004, his entry received the 'David Cook Award' for the best pencil in show. He has also had a solo show in Ipswich with regular exhibitions with the Wildlife Society at Banham Zoo in Norfolk also showing at Art on the Prom at Felixstowe and has also exhibited in California. Ian Last still lives in Suffolk.
