CRAMPTON, Ted
Edward Christopher Thomas Crampton was born at Hastings, Sussex in 1949, son of Frederick John Crampton and his wife Diana Mary née Simons, who married at Birmingham in 1941. Ted, as he was known, was educated at Aylesbury Grammar School, Welbeck College 1960-1968 and at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Royal Military College of Science, Shrivenham gaining a B.Sc., General Engineering 1972-1975. Ted spent time in the Army and travelled extensively, he then transferred to civilian life and worked all over the world. He then had a career in internet software before setting up on his own account. A mostly self-taught artist, receiving a lot of encouragement from other amateur and professional artists, and paints still-life flowers and seascapes also working on commissions. He married at Ipswich in 1996, Wendy Frances Allen and they lived at Colneis Road, Felixstowe, Suffolk where they exhibited at Art on the Prom.
