Robert Walker

Robert McDougall Walker was born at Fife, Scotland in June 1964. In 1988 Robert moved from Scotland to Suffolk and studied at Barnes Atelier, London. Mostly a self-taught artist/painter in oil with his work drawn on wordplay, humour, and love, with a style leaning towards realist, quirky still life and figurative moments. A Member and regular exhibitor at the Ipswich Art Society and one of its committee members and formerly the Chair of the Key Arts Group in Ipswich and won both the Newcomer and Critic's Awards at the BT & Post Office Old Bailey, London 2009 exhibition. A member of the Ipswich Arts Association and he regularly exhibits in London and Suffolk, including at the PO & BT Art Club Annual Exhibitions, London; Key Arts Group, Ipswich; 'Suffolk Skies' at Woodbridge School; Pond Gallery at Snape Maltings; Apex Gallery, Bury St Edmund's; John Russell Gallery, Ipswich; Ipswich School of Art and Imitate Modern, Marylebone High Street. He donated from Felixstowe to the Westhall Secret Postcard Auction in 2013, an oil on card 'Two Smart by Half'. Robert married in Suffolk in 1990, Janet Lesley Foulger and had his studio at 44 High Road East, Felixstowe, Suffolk.
