BAVERSTOCK, Geoffrey David
Geoffrey David Baverstock was born at Hendon, Middlesex on 8 September 1948, eldest son of Walter Reginald Baverstock (16 January 1913-31 January 1988), an army officer, and his second wife Barbara Rosemary née Piercy (3 September 1920-15 July 1994), who married at Hendon in 1947. Geoffrey trained as a naval architect and then studied at St Martin's School of Art and the Norwich School of Art. He lectured at Newcastle Polytechnic and then painted in Hong Kong for some ten years, travelling widely in China. He has his studio at Dunwich, Suffolk and had a solo exhibition at Piers Feetham Gallery, Fulham. He has also illustrated '100 Years of Electricity' (1990).
