Jan Tagg

Janet Ann Tagg was born at Camberwell, London in 1949. Jan studied printed textiles and lithography at art school and trained as an art teacher in Birmingham where she met her painter husband Bob. They moved to Loughborough where Bob taught at Loughborough College of Art and Design and Janet at the Further Education College. Jan's work is inspired by fairy tales, myths and legends and the inherent qualities of disquiet and mystery that they evoke and is fascinated by the Assyrian relief sculpture in the British Museum and in the Louvre in Paris, these sculptures have formed the basis for some of her recent etchings. In 2004 Jan joined Sudbourne Park Printmakers and regularly exhibits with them and has also exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition also at many local and countrywide shows. She had her studio at Roslyn, The Street, Peasenhall, Saxmundham, Suffolk.
