OVERBURY, Charles Edward
Charles Edward M. Overbury was born at Ipswich in 1989, son of Adrian Chares Overbury and his wife Cecile J. née Mitchell, who married at Brandeston, Suffolk in 1986. A fine art graduate from Middlesex University. A collage-maker mixing paints, mono-prints, inks, and others together to create psychedelic pictures reminiscent of Aboriginal artwork. Using acrylic paint and mono print in the main, the work that he creates is usually quite large, but he is also building a collection of smaller images. He is drawn to certain ideas such as people and objects in unusual environments where the normal rules of physics do not apply which allows him to contort the human body as they sink, float, or fall through the painting underneath. A former member of the Suffolk Open Studios from Low Farm House, Waddlegoose Lane, Ashfield-cum-Thorpe, Stowmarket, Suffolk. He has exhibited his work in the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane and with the Curious Duke Gallery in Old Street, London and has participated with Art in East Anglia at Framlingham, Suffolk.
