Lorna Murphy

Lorna Maria Murphy was born at Folkestone, Kent in 1968, daughter of Francis E. Murphy and his wife Josephine B. née Savage, who married at Folkestone in 1966. Spending her childhood on the Kent coast and, after working in the public sector for several years, studied art and illustration at Anglia Ruskin University 2005-2008, graduating B.A. for Illustration and 2008-2011 for a post-graduate M.A. for Children's Book Illustration. An artist in 2D and 3D mixed media, acrylic, digital art, drawing, mixed media, pastel with her main medium in illustration. From 2011, a freelance author and illustrator of children's books, also working for clients such as MacMillan and Burroughs Wellcome as well as independents, and working with her brother, author Glenn Murphy (1957-). A former member of Suffolk Open Studios from 8 Fordhams Close, Stanton, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk. Lorna Murphy has relocated to Valencia in Spain.
