Valerie Lindsell

Valerie A. Lindsell, was born at Braintee, Essex. She studied at the Colchester School of Art 1966-1967, studying under Peter Coker (1926-2004) and John O'Connor [q.v.], before going to South Africa and enrolled at Johannesburg School of Art studying under Claude van Lingen (born 1931) and Noel Bisseker (born 1939) where in 1971, she gained a diploma in Art & Design. Whilst in South Africa her work began to capture the light and spirit of the African landscape. On her return to England she studied at The Chelsea School of Art 1994 and her work now captures the spirit of East Anglian, and she has extended her palette and her landscapes are pared-down to show colour and then design. A member of the Harleston and Waveney Art Trail and has her studio at ‘Melrose’, The Street, Mendham, Suffolk but lives in Harleston, Norfolk. She has exhibited at the Harleston Gallery, Norfolk. www.valerielindsell.com
