LANKESTER, Angela
As Angela R. Taylor, she was born at Sudbury, Suffolk in 1947, daughter of Allen Austin Stephen Taylor (5 February 1923-1 March 2003) and his wife Jean Elizabeth May née Theobald (1926-9 January 2013), who married at Sudbury in 1946. Angela has lived a great deal of her life in East Anglia, and she married at Sudbury, Suffolk in 1967, Michael J. Lankester and paints under the name of Angela Lankester. A one-year foundation course gave Angela a broad grounding in painting, drawing, sculpture and photography and she works in watercolours, oils, and acrylics, both on location and in her studio at home, receiving inspiration with her immediate surroundings, love of the countryside and her garden. On location, sketches evoke memories of pleasant days and provide materials and ideas for future paintings with imagination playing a key role in her subject matter, which include abstract, animals, landscape, nature, and portraits. A member the Great Yarmouth & District Society Of Artists since 2002 and exhibits regularly at their annual exhibition from her studio at 3 College Cottages, St Marys Road, Aldby, Beccles and has also had solo and mixed exhibitions.
