HARRIS, Kimberley
Kimberley Grace Harris, was born at Colchester, Essex in 1985, daughter of Ian Richard Harris and his wife Susan L. née Greengrass, who married at Colchester in 1981. Kimberley studied Art & Design at the Colchester Institute 2005-2007 obtaining a BTec National Diploma before working as a commission artist and is also the holder of a Certificate in Marketing. A switch from watercolour to oils was inspired by a local artist David Porteous-Butler who introduced her to the palette knife, adding another signature style which gives depth and texture to her botanical subjects. Kimberley's style and inspiration has developed through a palette knife technique with oils, and growing up in the Suffolk countryside with her oil paintings capturing the essence and atmosphere of a location, from the haunting darkness of forgotten and crumbling buildings, to an English meadow bursting with colour with emphasis on colour and the effects of shadows and light. An associate member of Suffolk Open Studios from 2 High Street, Acton, Sudbury, Suffolk, and she exhibits widely including Buckingham Fine Arts, Denbigh West Business Park, Third Avenue, Milton Keynes; Bradbury Art Gallery, 4 Callender Street, Belfast; Cloud Galleries, 4b Middle Street, Horsham in Sussex, and is a former member of Suffolk Open Studios from 2 High Street, Acton, Sudbury, Suffolk, she exhibits her work in several local galleries.she exhibits her work in a number of local galleries including at Risby and Saxmundham.
