BUTTERWORTH, Hugh Barham
Hugh Barham Butterworth was born at Settle, Yorkshire in August 1941, his mother's maiden name was Barham-Foster. Hugh married at Amersham, Buckinghamshire in 1967, Penny Butterworth née Knowles. Hugh is a chartered accountant by profession, and a lino-print artist, with which the simplicity it requires being both fascinating and elusive, his subjects include landscapes often located on the coast. Hugh has his studio at Barn End Studios, Old Homes Road, Thorpeness, Leiston, Suffolk. An Associate Member of Suffolk Open Studios and has exhibited at Buckinghamshire County Museum as well as locally in Suffolk. He donated a linocut to the 'Westhall Secret Postcard Auction' in 2013 'Aldeburgh Martello Tower'.
