Barry Lowenhoff

Barry John Lowenhoff was born at Durham in June 1956, son of Ian David Lowenhoff (3 May 1927-26 July 2002) and his wife Edna née Greason (19 March 1925-2 July 2001), who married at Durham in 1951. Barry studied at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College 1974-1975 followed by Canterbury College of Art 1975-1979, gaining a B.A. in Graphic Design. He married at Torbay, Devon in 1985, Catherine Frances Hignell. A director of design companies before he set up his own consultancy business in 2000, Lowenhoff Design, he is also an artist and has illustrated work for commercial clients, such as 'The National Trust' and 'Norfolk Museums and Archaeology Service'. He works across different mediums but using slabs of flat colour with dry pastel or gouache. Barry has exhibited at the Pastel Society's annual exhibitions and has sat on the committee of the Suffolk Art Society and does private commissions using painting and drawing. In 2003 he moved from Halstead, Essex to Sudbury, Suffolk and exhibited from 136 Melford Road, Sudbury, Suffolk at the 'Visions of Sudbury' at St Peter's Church, Sudbury in 2009 a pastel 'Meadows'. He now has a business in Stowmarket, Suffolk.
