PRICE, Sarah Baddon
Sarah Baddon Price was born at Kingston, Jamaica in 1965, to Scottish parents. Sarah studied at Carlisle College of Art later known as the University of Cumbria 1983-1985 and Winchester School of Art, Hampshire 1985-1988 obtaining her B.A. (hons) degree. Sarah has worked as a freelance artist, with stints at London and Edinburgh design agencies as a practising contemporary artist, and as a teacher in Suffolk. Her work has been described as providing psychological relief through the open expression of strong emotions, but recently her paintings have become more semi-abstract and figurative, resulting from the practice of doing more life drawing, still-life, and landscape studies. This new focus has given her work more energy, positivity, and depth, making it more accessible to the viewer. Her exhibitions include Andrew Darcy Fine Art, Bradfield, Essex; Art Below, Regents Park Station, London; Buckenham Galleries, Southwold, and Oxford International Art Fair. A member of the Ipswich Art Society and in recent years she has taught at Suffolk College including Otley College and private painting groups in Woodbridge and currently has her studio at Corder Road, Ipswich. Her work was sold in Europe and the US to collectors including Agnes B; Charles Jourdan; French Connection and Esprit.
