Janet Judge

Janet Ann Judge was born in South Middlesex in 1956, daughter of Leslie E Judge. Janet studied at Bath Academy of Art in the 70s, gaining a fine Art degree in Sculpture and Etching. Following a successful career in teaching, in the late 1980s Janet became a professional painter being known for her colourful still life paintings but progressed to land and seascapes. Her paintings and garden were featured in the September 2002 'Suffolk' magazine when she had her studio at The Old Mission Hall, Mill Road, Badingham, Woodbridge, Suffolk. In 2004 she, and her family, moved to Tehidi, Mullion, Helston, Cornwall where she painted the dramatic coast, boats and harbours and was drawn to the gentler beauty of the Helford River and its surrounding area but continued to paint still life particularly vibrant fruit and colourful fish. Janet exhibited widely in group and solo exhibitions around the country including The Customs House Gallery, Harbour Road, Porthleven; Waterside Gallery, 21 Marine Parade, St Mawes; The Lander Gallery, Lemon Street, Truro and Aldeburgh Contemporary Arts, Aldeburgh, Suffolk and she had many images published as Limited-edition prints and greetings cards. Janet married at Kingston upon Thames in 1996 Timothy John Nicholls (-13 December 2021). Janet Ann Nicholls died at The Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro on 11 October 2022, aged 66.
