As Veronica A. Slovick, she married at Uxbridge, Middlesex in 1964, William Heming and paints under the name of Nicky Heming. A mostly self-taught artist, on taking up painting in 1993 she studied with some well-known East Anglian artists, and with her growing confidence and ability, oil painting became her favourite, with favourite subjects being portraits from life or photographs. A versatile artist enjoying colour and form, working in oil and charcoal and as well as portraits Nicky also paints landscapes and coastal waters and with a love of vibrant colours produces surreal still life. Nicky exhibits throughout East Anglia and has had work published in international and national magazines and won national and local awards. She has her studio at The Sulby Studio, 17 Springfield Road, Somersham, Ipswich and is a member of the Lavenham Art Society and a teacher at Hill & Vale Art Group at Offton & Willisham Village Hall.
