Simon Bestow

Howard Simon Charles Bestow was born at Fox Lane, Southgate, London on 1 January 1935, son of Maurice Albert Bestow (20 June 1909-22 March 1953), a drapery representative, and his first wife Gladys Gertrude née Stapleton (25 February 1910-17 February 1991) who, in 1939 were living at 18 Koh-I-Noor Avenue, Bushey, Hertfordshire. Simon, as he was known, was educated at Shirley House Prep School in Watford, and then boarded at Merchant Taylor’s school in Northwood gaining a Highter National Certificate (HNC) in engineering and became a water engineer, a job he continued in for his entire working life. He married secondly in the Sudbury district of Suffolk in February 1971, Linda J. Pasby and they lived at 38 Lonsdale Close, Ipswich. He exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club from 28 Claverton Way, Rushmere St Andrew, Ipswich in 1979 'Market Hill, Ipswich'. Howard Simon Charles Bestow was an Anglian Water Engineer, and in 1995 moved to Gaston Street, East Bergholt, Suffolk where he died on 4 September 2015, leaving a widow and two children.
