Regis C. E. Siger was born in Belgium in 1944 and has been a UK citizen since 1971. A self-taught artist who has specialised in painting East Anglian village and town scenes, mostly Suffolk including old cottages, farm buildings and farmhouses. His working technique is unorthodox and consists of a strong drawing executed with a brush and black waterproof ink, which is then filled with acrylic paints, and he concentrates on the historical aspect of the subjects, reflecting his fascination for old architecture. His paintings rarely feature cars, traffic signs or any other modern paraphernalia, giving the scenes a flavour of times past. A member of the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists and the Lavenham Art Society and an exhibitor at Bury St Edmund's Art Society and Suffolk Art Society also exhibiting in East Anglian churches, church halls and village hall art shows, plus a few selected craft fairs and exhibited at the 'Visions of Sudbury' show at St Peter's Church, Sudbury in 2009, an acrylic 'Burkitt's Lane'. He has also dabbled in mural and portrait painting and has a keen interest in music from his studio at Stanwell House, High Street, Gislingham, Suffolk. He donated to the Westhall Secret Postcard Auction in 2013 a black ink & acrylic 'Suffolk Summer'.
