POWELL, Andy
As Andrew W. W. Shove, he was born at Ipswich on 1 November 1957, son of George Andrew Shove (27 November 1904-1970) and his wife Renee née Bowden (13 March 1920-1993), who married at Colchester, Essex in 1954. Andrew was educated at Alton Park School, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex; Colbains High School, Clacton and, as a mature student, at Ipswich School of Art in 1995. He married at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1983, June R Morley. As Andy Powell, an artist in tempera, oil, watercolour, print, and mixed media and is represented by Saatchi Gallery, London and has also exhibited at Royal Academy Summer Exhibition; Tel-Aviv Central Gallery; Theatre Royal Norwich; St Matthew's, Norwich; Edmund Gallery, Suffolk; Ipswich Town Hall Gallery and elsewhere. Andrew was, amongst others, a freelance writer for the BBC and ITV and the founder of ‘Artists RatPack’ television network in 1983. He now lives at Chelsea, London from where he takes in commissions.
