WOODROW, Ian
Ian H. Woodrow was born at Foxhall Road, Ipswich in 1939, son of Clifford Charles Woodrow (12 July 1904-18 August 1980), a chemist, and his wife Mabel Rene née Harrison (22 October 1911-9 October 2008), who married at Ipswich in 1931 and in 1939 were living at 327 Foxhall Road, Ipswich. Ian trained at Ipswich Civic College, now the Suffolk College, followed by the Ipswich School of Art, then painting with lithography at Hornsey College of Art, graduating in 1961. A lecturer at Redland College, Bristol and Bristol Polytechnic 1967-1978 and was then senior lecturer in fine art printmaking at the Polytechnic and the Royal West of England Academy. Painter, printmaker, draughtsman, and photographer with mixed exhibitions at Ipswich School of Art 1962; Midland Group, Nottingham; British Miniature Print International Exhibition, Bristol and 2nd Irish Miniprint Exhibition, Gallagher Gallery, Dublin and had a solo show at the Piers Feetham Gallery and elsewhere. He married at Ipswich in 1959, Margaret Ward (1934-22 April 2020), an art teacher, and secondly at Bristol in 1976, Patricia Penn. He now resides in Lee Park, London.
