WOODARD, Adrian Montgomery
Adrian Montgomery Woodard was born at Ipswich on 11 May 1945, son of Frederick Stanley Woodard and his wife Emily Bertha née Mortimer (1899-1995), who married at Ipswich in 1932. Adrian did not start painting until the early 1980s, painting in a traditional representative way, mainly woodland landscapes moving onto oil paint and using figures for the first time, which led to flatter simplified images. His mixed shows included the Ipswich Art Society Open Exhibition 2000; Norfolk Furniture Makers Exhibition, Norwich 2001 and Cinnamon Gallery, Raveningham, Norfolk 2002. He had a solo exhibition at Buckenham Galleries, Southwold in 2002 and another at The Raveningham Centre in 2003 which covered his work from 1996. He married at Ipswich in 1965, Janet R. Cossgrove (born 1945). Adrian Montgomery Woodard died at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk in 2003.
