SQUIRRELL, Hilda Victoria
As Hilda Victoria Bird, she was born at Ipswich on 14 July 1900, daughter of Harry Bird (1874-13 January 1926), a dairyman, and his wife Elizabeth Susan née Garrett (27 September 1869-1960) and in 1911 were living at 26 Withipol Street, Ipswich. Her father died at Ipswich in 1926 and in 1939, her mother Elizabeth was a widow, living at 11 Bixley Road, Ipswich. Hilda married at Ipswich in 1923, Leonard Squirrell and their two children were Martin Squirrell and daughter Annette Squirrell. An amateur painter and as Mrs. L. R. Squirrell an honorary member of the Ipswich Art Club from 1952 until her death at Ipswich in 1972. She does not seem to have exhibited.
