HANGER, Neil
Neil M. Hanger was born at Dartford, Kent in 1962, son of Derek Frederick Edward Hanger (1936-18 June 2014) and his wife Gillian née Hurley (1936-6 December 2013), who married at Weymouth, Dorset in 1957. Neil obtained a fine art honours degree at Bretton Hall College, Leeds University 1981-1985. He uses materials which are often glossy or plastic which can be art, these are objects that are seen every day which, because we are so familiar with, go unconsidered. Neil has had group exhibitions including Crescent Arts, The Crescent, Scarborough; East Gallery, Norwich; Open Print Show, Contact Gallery Norwich; Forefront Gallery at Suffolk College, Ipswich 1998; Slaughter House Gallery, Aldeburgh and solo shows at Holland Park College, Notting Hill, London and 'Over the River' Wolsey Art Gallery, Ipswich. Neil Hangerr was head of Art and Design at Leiston Middle School and lived at Great Glemham, Saxmundham, Suffolk.
