AHN, Frederick Martin

1903 - 1987

Frederick Martin Ahn was born at Brixton, London on 10 February 1903, eldest child of Martin Ahn, a manufacturing farrier, and his wife Ellen née Ashfield (1872-1917), who married at Brixton in 1903. In 1911, as 'Frick', an 8-year-old, living at 297 Summer Road, Peckham, London with his parents, 34-year-old Martin, born in Germany, and 39-year-old 'Nellie' of Brixton, with his sibling 9-month-old brother Berthy. Frederick married at Edmonton, London in 1926, Gladys Emma Jean Schmid (1904-1961) and secondly at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1976, Nita Grace Goodchild (1903-1993). A member of the Ipswich Art Club and exhibited from 8 Maynewater Lane, Bury St Edmund's in 1979 two pictures 'Portrait of Mr. John Chessel' and 'Mrs J. de Soir'. Also, a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle in 1979 from Bury St Edmund's. Frederick Martin Ahn died at 8 Maynewater Lane, Bury St Edmund's on 1 May 1987.
