STEWARD, Francis
Francis Steward was baptised at Gaol Street Old Meeting House, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk on 23 March 1806, youngest son of William Steward and his wife Ann. Francis was educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge graduating B.A. in 1827 and took holy orders. He married at Great Yarmouth on 31 August 1830, Sarah Tolver Preston (1 March 1802-May 1884). In 1836 ordained rector of Barking and Darmsden, Needham Market, Suffolk. He exhibited some paintings at the Needham Market Fine Art & Industrial Exhibition at the Town Hall on 11 July 1867. Francis Steward died at Barking Rectory on 10 May 1892. His wife, Sarah Steward, also exhibited at the same exhibition.
