WOOLSTON, Ann
As Ann L. Saville, she was born at Aldershot, Hampshire in 1941, daughter of George Henry Saville (15 March 1915-30 April 1982), who was in the army, and his wife Lily Doris Harvey (12 September 1915-28 January 2000), third daughter of William Harvey, who married at Colchester, Essex on 31 July 1937 and in 1939 were living at 49 Money Road, Caterham, Surrey. Ann married at Khartoum, Sudan, Raymond Thomas Woolston (born 1934) and works under the name as Ann Woolston. Now a retired interior designer, involved with textiles from Central Asia and a host for bed and breakfast guests at 8 Woodland Drive, Bungay, Suffolk. Ann is well travelled and has lived all over the world with a personal passion for Central Asian hand embroidered textiles and has an amazing collection of artefacts from many countries. Her love of colour comes from living in Africa, the beads and fabrics from the Solomon Islands and the stunning, large, cotton hand embroidered suzani from Samarkand. Working in acrylic but experiments with other mediums including a mix of photography and paint. A member of the Black Dog Arts Group and of Waveney & Blyth Arts.
