1946 - 2015

Eric Bonner was born in Scotland in 1946. A former bus driver and later a long-distance lorry driver, and from 1966 lived at Copperfield Gardens, Brentwood, Essex being elected a Lib. Dem. councillor in 1980. He married in 1968 and in 2006 took early retirement due to ill-health and, together with his wife Ann, moved to Beccles in Suffolk. Whilst his working hours prevented him from pursuing his hobby of art, his early retirement gave him the opportunity to progress his hobby which led to his work being published and sold locally. A member and exhibitor at the Beccles Society of Artists and one of his proudest achievements was to have one of his pictures featured on the Parkinson UK fundraising calendar for the month of May 2014. Eric Bonner died in April 2015, aged 70.
