BOND, Iris

1900 - 1992

Iris Bond, was born at Ipswich on 12 September 1900, daughter of William Keer Bond and his wife Grace Ellen née Gurteen, who married at Haverhill, Suffolk on 14 February 1899. In 1911, a 10 year old, living at ‘Pentucket’ 7 St Edmund’s Road, Ipswich with her parents, 42 year old William and 42 year old Grace and sibling sister Elaine 6, born at Ipswich. Educated at Ipswich High School for Girls, Iris exhibited at the Ipswich Fine Art Club from 50 Westerfield Road, Ipswich in 1927, a watercolour 'Blakeney Quay'. She married at Ipswich in 1930, Felix Clement Smith (1899-1981), a farmer, and in 1939 she was living at Searson's Farm, Trimley, Felixstowe, Suffolk with her husband and two sons. She died at 50 Westerfield Road, Ipswich on 15 January 1992.
