YOUNGMAN, Ada Cornelia

1864 - 1916

Ada Cornelia Youngman, was born at Islington, London in 1864, daughter of Cornelius Tipple Youngman (1825-1873) and his wife Louisa Rebecca née Elliott, who married at Bermondsey, London in 1859. In 1871, living with her widowed mother at Millgate Lane, Didsbury, Lancashire but later lived with her aunt at The Dowches, High Street, Kelvedon, Essex. A landscape painter in oil and a member of Ipswich Art Club 1884-1890 and exhibited from Dowches House, Kelvedon in 1884, two works 'A Castle on the Rhine' and 'Now comes Still Evening', in 1889 'An Afternoons Sport on the Blackwater', in 1890 'Bradwell' and in 1891 'Berisal' she is listed in other years but put nothing on show. She was of Dowches House, Kelvedon when she died at Waltham Abbey, Essex, where she was engaged in the Royal Gunpowder Factory, on 18 December 1916, aged 52, she was unmarried.
