STOW, Annie
Annie Stow was born at Ipswich on 13 August 1903, daughter of John Henry Stow (28 August 1866-24 January 1962), an ordnance survey draughtsman, and his wife Ann Maria née Dowsing (25 October 1865-1955), who married at Ipswich in 1887. In 1901, the family were living at 48 Hay Terrace, Edinburgh, 34-year-old John, board of agriculture ordnance survey, and 35-year-old Ann, with children William Herbert 13, born in Wales, Frederick James 7, Harry 5 and Percy 1, all born in Scotland and shortly afterwards they returned to live at Ipswich. Young Annie was a painter in watercolour and a member of Ipswich Art Club 1926-1950 and exhibited from 44 Sherrington Road, Ipswich in 1928 'Ipswich Docks' and in 1933 'Kersey Street'. In 1939, a shorthand typist, living at 14 Pine View Road, Ipswich with her parents and her sister Hilda (3 June 1901-1960). Annie Stow died at 14 Pine View Road, Ipswich on 23 November 1993, she was unmarried.
