NORMAN, Leslie Henry

1903 - 1973

Leslie Henry Norman was born at Hoxne, near Eye, Suffolk on 10 December 1903, son of Henry Norman (19 November 1872-12 July 1964), a schoolmaster, and his wife Annie née Marlow (22 September 1872-13 May 1965), who married at Kettering, Northamptonshire in 1901 and in 1939 were living at The Vicarage, Denham, Suffolk. In 1911, Leslie was a 7-year-old, living at Hoxne with his parents, 38-year-old Henry and 38-year-old Annie, with two siblings Eric Charles 3 and newly born Clarice Mary, both also born at Hoxne and in 1921 they were living at The Vicarage, Denham, Suffolk. Leslie married at Coventry in 1930, Margaret Dickson Barker (21 March 1900-1 April 1979). Leslie was a landscape painter and a member of the Blakeney 1936-1945 exhibiting from 97 Bixley Road, Ipswich in 1937 three oils, 'The Bypass', 'Ipswich from the South-East' and 'Mudflats at Nacton'. In 1939, an elementary schoolmaster, living at 97 Bixley Road, Ipswich with his wife Margaret. Leslie Henry Norman died at Mettingham, Suffolk on 28 March 1973.
