EVERITT, Cecil

1911 - 1995

Cecil Duncan Everitt was born at Gibraltar on 7 May 1911, son of William Everitt (9 March 1875-1943), an army man later a poultry farmer, and his wife Mabel Elinda née Tooley (22 September 1877-1963), widow of Charles Boote, who married at Colchester, Essex in 1902. In 1926 Cecil studied at Ipswich School of Art and later took calligraphy. Cecil married at Ipswich in 1933, Constance Margaret Trivett (13 September 1909-13 May 1994). Cecil illustrated several books on period costume and was an associate member of the Ipswich Art Club from 1962, when he exhibited from 6 Elmcroft Road, Ipswich, a calligraphy 'Maxim' and exhibited a watercolour 'Calligraphy No. 2' at the centenary Ipswich Art Club in 1974 and by 1980 had become a full member of the Club. Cecil Duncan Everitt died at 6 Elmcroft Road, Ipswich on 31 January 1995.
