Janet Woodard is a self taught artist with her studio near Felixstowe in Suffolk. Janet began drawing when very young using pencil or inks, studying and drawing wildlife, being encouraged by her then art teacher and other local artists who encouraged her to join the local art club. On leaving school she went into the animal profession, firstly as a zoo keeper and later into the pet trade, taking a degree in Canine Behaviour and running her own business but continued with her art as a hobby. In 2018 with a change of career decided to make art full time. Janet's works, after experiment with several mediums, is in acrylic on canvas or scratch board and to work in of layers of the medium, a time consuming process but allows her to create both depth and realism. Janet is a member of the Felixstowe Art Group and has exhibited at Art at the Ferry
