TANSWELL, Wayne
Wayne Travis Tanswell was born in Hackney, London in 1964, son of Derek Tanswell, a barber, and his wife Jean née Davis. After leaving school in 1980 he trained as a sign writer and Wayne, together with his family moved to Long Melford, Suffolk. He has travelled throughout the United Kingdom and had projects in Bahrain, Zambia, as well as in Europe. As a skilled lettering artist, Wayne has displayed his work in solo exhibitions including Cambridge, London, and his native Suffolk and is an experienced tutor and author of multiple signwriting tuition books including: ‘Learn How to Paint Signs Freestyle’ and ‘Introduction to Traditional Sign Writing. He works from The Sign Studio, 1D Unit 5, Stour Valley Business Centre, Brundon Lane, Sudbury, Suffolk.
