Stephen Yorke

Stephen Yorke was born in Birmingham in November 1958, son of Albert Yorke and his wife Olive Leadbetter, who married at Birmingham in 1942. At the age of eleven, he won a place at the Moseley School of Art in Birmingham, a specialist Art School founded by the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and where he studied classical rendering techniques in all aspects of art. A professional artist, writer and illustrator formerly living in the Cherwell Valley in Oxfordshire. Working in oil, acrylic, watercolour, oil pastel, pencil and intricate pen and ink to create work in a variety of styles, ranging from the traditional to the more contemporary abstract also working closely with his wife, Kym née Richmond, to create the 'Crumble Cottage' range of books and merchandise. He has exhibited widely including in France, where he lived and worked for seven years, Cyprus, New York and extensively in the UK. Stephen Yorke now lives and works in Nethergate Street, Bungay, Suffolk.
