LEATHERS, David John
David John Leathers was born at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1940, son of Frank Harry Leathers (8 April 1905-27 November 1984), a cake & pastry maker, and his wife Marjorie Anne née Hempstead (24 December 1913-2 September 2002), who married at Bury St Edmund's in 1936. David John Leathers was an artist in oil specialising in still-life paintings, but he also paints coastal scene, landscape, figure, and portrait. A former member of Southwold Art Circle and a member of the Cambridge Drawing Society. He now lives in St Neots, Cambridgeshire and has exhibited widely including at the Art and Horse Racing Gallery, Newmarket; The Gallery, Holt, Norfolk. His paintings have found buyers from all over the UK and his work is also in homes in Australia, USA, Norway and Ireland.
