HELLER, Dr Mary

Mary Heller

Mary Heller worked in the National Health Service as a full-time health professional for more than thirty years and then worked part time. On her retirement, Mary she felt that it was time to do something creative and painting allowed her to lose herself in a subject, so that everyday concerns receded into the background and after completing an art diploma course she worked towards a painting degree and her work as an artist has become increasingly important Her paintings are mostly in oils, but she also works in acrylics, pastels and mixed media working with paint in a loose and colourful way to catch the feel of an image, which may lead to the work becoming almost entirely abstract, or to be an impression of the subject. Mary is a member of Suffolk Open Studios from The Studio, Grove Farmhouse, Halesworth in the Suffolk countryside and has exhibited at Holton Lodge Barn and elsewhere.
