LIDZEY, Elsie
As Elsie Fildes she was born in 1932, daughter of George Fildes (7 February 1897-1981), a machine operator, and his wife Ethel L née Smoker (24 July 1893-), who married at Willesden in 1930. Elsie married at Willesden, London in 1960 John Lidzey and looking for subjects further afield, they decided to relocate to a remote cottage 'The Dell', at Flixton, near Bungay, Suffolk. About 2003 the couple made a final move to nearby 1 London Road, Harleston, Norfolk from where Elsie exhibited at St Mary's Church Debenham in 2018, two watercolours 'Interior with Jug and Grapes' and 'Baby Ducklings' and two oils 'Barges on the Stow' and 'Oranges in a Bowl' she was also a potter. Elsie Lidzey died on 1 November 2022.
