Kate Roocroft

Katherine Roocroft was born in Dorset. Kate and studied print textiles at the University of Central England in 1998 and, having a background in textiles and specialising in print and painting during her university career, was the foundation from which her work has evolved which later focused on her love for oil painting. In 2007 Kate and her family moved closer to Woodbridge in Suffolk and in 2018 Kate started painting again and in 2021 began selling her work through galleries and exhibitions. Kate is a contemporary abstract landscape artist with her studio at Great Bealings, near Ipswich. Her work is influenced by the local river and coastal walks and includes emotive riverscapes and coastal scenes. Her use of layered oil and mixed media capture the most enchanting and beautiful locations in Suffolk. In 2020 Kate had her first joint exhibition since when her work has evolved, as she experiments and develops her practise. She has exhibited with Artspace Woodbridge; Courtyard Gallery, Aldeburgh; Grundisburgh House Gallery; Art For Cure; Holton Lodge Barn and W Gallery, Woodbridge.
