2014 - 2017

Rushlight Gallery, Melton House, Market Place, Reepham, Norfolk was owned by Jules and Ernie Allen. Originally it was a candle-makers shop owned by George St John, who made tallow candles and rushlights, hence the name of the new gallery. A contemporary art gallery, which commenced trading on 20 September 2014 in a ground-floor unit of Melton House in Reepham’s Market Place, featured paintings, original prints, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, textiles, and artists’ books, many from local artists. The Rushlight Gallery closed in June 2017.
