BENNET, Alice Jane Harrison
Alice Jane Harrison Bennet was born at Copdock Lodge, near Ipswich in 1859, daughter of Edward Bennet (1805-1 January 1864), landed proprietor, and his wife Anne Elizabeth (1824-12 November 1909), daughter of Charles and Maria Harrison of Wortham, Suffolk, who married at Wortham on 26 June 1855. Edward Bennet was born at Great Barton, Suffolk was of Buxhall Lodge, Suffolk on his marriage and seemed to have settled at Copdock Lodge on their marriage, Alice's father Edward was buried at Copdock in 1864 and the family continued to reside there. In 1884 Alice was of Copdock Lodge, Ipswich when she exhibited at Ipswich Fine Art Club an oil 'Robin Adair'. In 1891, the family were living with Alice’s farmer brother Phillip, at High Road, Blo’ Norton, Norfolk but ten years later Alice, unmarried, together with her mother Anne, were living at Upper Maze Hill, St Leonards, Hastings. Alice Jane Harrison Bennet died at Henison, Dorchester, Dorset on 5 March 1913, aged 54, she was unmarried.
