Alison Couchman worked as an Art teacher for some fifteen years, then working in industry then set up her own business training teachers. Coming from a long line of makers but had little time for her own work but the urge to create was always there. Alision's work is whole cloth painted art quilts, working from photographs painting onto smooth Egyptian cotton before machine embroidering and quilting. She aims for a contemporary style to her work often using brightly coloured backgrounds to achieve this. A member of Chain Reaction and Textile Art Group Suffolk.
