BELOE, Agnes Charlotte
Agnes Charlotte Beloe was born at Holton, Suffolk on 2 January 1863, daughter of Revd Robert Seppings Beloe (c1822-24 January 1896), vicar of All Saints', Lynn Regis [King's Lynn], Norfolk and from 1855 rector of Holton St Peter, and his wife Elizabeth Mary née Ware (15 April 1826-21 January 1903), second daughter of Revd George Ward, rector of Ashton and vicar of Winsome, who married at Winsome, Somerset on 3 April 1850. Agnes exhibited from Brook Hall, Bramfield, Halesworth, Suffolk at the Society of Women Artists 1889-1901. Her father died at Brook Hall in 1896 and in 1901, Agnes was still living at Brook Hall with her widowed mother who was paralysed and who died in 1903, and in 1911 Agnes was living on private means at 3 Newton Road, Sudbury, Suffolk with a 20-year-old servant but by 1921 had moved to Rectory Lane, Bradfield, Berkshire. In 1939, Agnes Charlotte Beloe was a retired artist, living at Health Cope, Bucklebury, Bradfield, Berkshire with two servants and she died at Carbins Wood, Bucklesbury Common, Berkshire on 8 September 1943, aged 80, she was unmarried.
